Jim Wilde and John Avelluto. Co winners of the Ducati Passion award
That's John Avelluto's 2005 999, all clean and fresh off the 1600 mile Iron Butt from Kansas City to Daytona through temps as low as 17 degrees. Here's his bike card:
1 of 31 yellow 2005 999's imported in 05. This one was treated to what should have been done from the factory. All of the components that were once silver or gray are now blacked out, by methods that are factory correct. Also there are painted number boards and tri-color stripes that represent the colors of the Italian flag, birth place of this beautiful machine. Every square mm of this motorcycle has been gone over. Most of the work was carried out personally even though I am not a m/c shop owner or a high performance parts vendor/dealer, just a pizza man with a great passion for Ducati! and I feel like this shows. This machine is ridden daily and was rode here to Daytona from Kansas City non stop for this event.
Jim Wilde is the other half of the Iron Butt Team. Jim's 2007 1098 has over 16,000 miles on it, quite a way down from the 50k a year he routinely clocked on his ST4s Here is his bike card: I enjoy Track days so most of the modifications are toward that end.Ceramic coated full Termignoni system with race evo ECU and performance air cleaner,Euro Racing throttle, Woodcraft clutch cover,Speedymoto frame sliders, R&G axle sliders, R&G fender eliminator. I ride my 1098 daily, and rode an Iron Butt Saddlesore 1,000 to Daytona for this event. I will have over 15,000 miles on the clock by show time. I have ridden my 1098 from the top of Pikes Peak to Daytona. Yes you can tour with a Superbike.
Joe Lott brought this well presented race bike all the way from Colorado. Here is the info on his bike info card:
